Shotoku, Azcar Team Up in U.S., Canada

7.04.2008

Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a maker of pedestals, pan/tilt heads and other camera support products, is partnering with systems integrator Azcar Digital Products, a division of Azcar USA, to enhance Shotoku’s sales and service support in the region.

“ADP’s deep roots in the broadcast industry coupled with its technical abilities and the company’s sterling reputation make them an ideal partner for us,” said Mike Wolfe, managing director for Shotoku, based at the company’s European headquarters in Staines, England. “We were impressed with their dedication to providing outstanding sales and service support which reflects our own philosophy. This agreement paves the way for superior support of Shotoku’s robotic and manual products for our local North American customers on a consistent basis.”

Bill Frazier, vice president of Azcar’s Digital Product Division, said Shotoku’s equipment was ideal for Azcar’s target audience, ranging from broadcasters and news producers to legislatures and houses of worship.

“The [Shotoku] robotic range’s interoperability with other manufacturer’s products is an enormous value to our customers who need to upgrade, expand, or replace an existing system,” Frazier said. “It allows facilities to maximize their investment and grow into a full-blown Shotoku configuration at their own pace.”

Shotoku launched its first robotically controlled pedestal, the TRP-100, earlier this year.

“The record-breaking number of leads we received at NAB is an indisputable indication that the U.S. and Canadian markets are very interested in high-quality camera support products that incorporate the unique features that have made Shotoku a rapid success in Europe and the Far East,” Wolfe said.
