John Clark, Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers president for 10 years, will leave the post effective July 4.
SCTE announced that Clark is leaving “to pursue other interests.”
“We thank John for all he has done for SCTE after entering into the important leadership role of president 10 years ago, and we wish him well in his new pursuits,” said Tom Gorman, chairman of the SCTE Board of Directors.
Marv Nelson has been appointed interim president and CEO, effective immediately, and is responsible for managing the affairs of SCTE until Clark’s successor is named.
A search committee has been formed, and a search will begin immediately. The committee will be chaired by Frank Eichenlaub, who is western vice chair of the SCTE Board of Directors.
A 28-year veteran of the cable telecommunications industry, Nelson is SCTE vice president of professional development. He joined the SCTE staff in 1991. He is an SCTE-certified Broadband Communications Technician and Broadband Communications Engineer and holds the American Society of Association Executives credential of Certified Association Executive.
